“THE BEAST’S PEN” is the anagrammatical pseudonym of Stephen Bates, who is retired and lives in North-West London. Main interests are:

TRAVEL – visited 6 continents, with Antarctica still to come (maybe); recent destinations include China, Peru, South Africa, Russia, Egypt, Australia and New Zealand;

THEATRE – averaged more than 3 visits a week during 2013 and a regular reviewer for The Public Reviews (www.thepublicreviews.com)

CINEMA – a BFI member with a preference for the classics of the 40’s and 50’s and the modern worldwide films that tend not to make it into the multiplexes;

SPORT – a lifelong supporter of West Bromwich Albion.
